All computers on-campus should have Symantec Antivirus installed. If you are on the Miners domain and do not have Symantec Antivirus on your campus computer, please call the Information Security office at extension 6324 or send an e-mail to security@utep.edu so that we can ensure your computer gets the newest updated version. If you are not on the Miners domain and need Symantec Antivirus installed on your computer, please contact PC Support at extension 6946 to arrange for a member of their staff to install the program for you.
If you are a full-time faculty or staff member, please call the Information Security office at extension 6324 or send an e-mail to security@utep.edu to request a copy of the software. If you are a part-time faculty or staff member or student, we cannot offer you Symantec Antivirus at this time, but this link provides several free trials of antivirus software. Additionally, here is a free web-based scanner for your computer if you suspect you may be infected. We recommend all users review the Security Practices webpage featured on our website to ensure your computer is as safe as possible.
