I have tried to approve a document and BIS says I don't have access. What do I do?
First try to change the desk you are on in BIS. Try again. For VP7 approvals, the desk you should be on will have the format Departmentname-PRO. If you still don't have access, please call the Help Desk.
How do I change my desk in BIS?
From any screen in BIS, you can hit the F1 key on your keyboard to bring up the desk information screen. Type a ? where the cursor is blinking and then hit the Enter key. You will see all the desks you have access to. Select the desk you need to be placed on by typing in the number. Hit Enter twice and you will have access to that specific desk.
How can I find out what kind of access I have in BIS?
You can use the YS1 command to view all the access you have in BIS. In YS1 you will see a list of all desks you have access to. Just select the number of the desk you wish to view and then type an X
in the space provided. You will then see a pop-up window with a menu of
all commands. To the left of the menu will be the authorization you
have been granted. U and S both mean you can update the document. V means that you can only view the document.
