Research and Academic Data Center (RADC) is available to faculty and
academic departments that require high-quality facilities and services for
research and academic computing.

The is no installation or ongoing fee for equipment housed
in the RADC. There may be a one time initial installation charge for
some equipment.. These charges include:
- 220V Power - $250 per circuit *

Additional network ports - $150/port,
- single network port - no charge
Since some of these installation services are contracted out, the quoted prices are estimates.
Organizations can purchase a dedicated rack for their equipment.
Dedicated racks are subject to floor space availability and
standardization of equipment. Organizations not requiring their own
rack may utilize the shared racks in the RADC at no charge.

Do servers have to be rack-mountable to be hosted in the ADC?
Yes.
Do I have to pay a network port charge?
No. Each server located in the ADC has one network port. Additional ports are $150 and are subject to availability.
Do I need to provide a rack for my server?
No, rack is provided at no cost. Departments have the option to purchase a rack if floor space is available.
How is physical security / access handled in the ADC? Who has access to the data center? What type of access do they have?
Only authorized IT employees have access to the ADC.
Do I have to give up administrative rights if a server is in the ADC?
No. All equipment housed in the ADC becomes part of the utep.edu domain but you can keep administrative rights.
