How can I set up my VPN connection?
To set up your VPN connection, simply install the .exe file found here.
I cannot login to the VPN connection with my username/password.
To access VPN, you must have a valid UTEP account. Unfortunately, this service is only offered to current students and UTEP employees. If you are a current student, staff, or faculty, please contact the help desk at 747-5257.
I get an error message after logging in with my username and password.
VPN utilizes a public network, or the internet, to establish a secure connection. If your internet connection is not working properly, then the VPN connection will not work properly either. You may want to delete your VPN connection from the Network Connections, and reinstall it by clicking on the .exe file that is found here.
If error messages still appear after checking your username/password, and re-installing your VPN connection, you will need to contact your internet service provider. For Faculty and Staff attempting to remote into a computer or server at utep: If an error message appears about remote access being denied, please check the computer or server you are attempting to remote into, since the machine may be turned off or not allowing remote access.
I’m here on campus and I still cannot connect to VPN.
Students are not able to connect to VPN here on campus, but if you are using UTEP wireless, then you will not need to connect to VPN.
|
VPN access is only available to current UTEP students and employees. Also, if UTEP security policies are violated while VPN is in use, VPN access will be terminated. For more information on UTEP security policies, please read the terms for Acceptable Use.
